Roberta L. de Araujo specializes in employment and union matters. Before joining the Firm, she served for nine years as General Counsel for the Maine State Employees Association, where she represented the union and its private and public sector members in arbitration and administrative hearings and in related court proceedings. Roberta also has many years of experience in Maine as a mediator, arbitrator, fact-finder, and hearing officer handling labor and employment issues, including unemployment appeals and appeals before the Maine Public Employees Retirement System. In addition, she practiced for three years with a Washington, D.C. law firm representing employees and unions in retirement law matters. Roberta graduated, magna cum laude from Brown University in 1978, and from the University of Chicago Law School in 1981.
